Our newest member of the Zeigler family.....

After coming home from the wedding reception that Saturday night Brett and I decided pulling up in the driveway we wanted another dachshund. We both at the same time said it just didn't feel right without Darcy greeting us at the door.....especially this day. We had been thinking of getting another dog for months now and then when Darcy passed we put it on hold. Even though we know we can never replace her something is missing in the house. Brett said he would call the kennell that we found when we got home from the honeymoon.
I guess it was fate because we wanted a female and they only had two left. Zoe was the only black and tan. They also had a red who was wild as a jack rabbit. We felt we'd spent alot of time chasing that one down. Zoe was calm and laid back and just the cutest. We took her home on Sunday. We've bonded instantly. Being home on Monday was a good time for us to be with her and then going back to work on Tuesday - I took her with me. She did so good sitting in my office all day. She is warming up to us and is already quite attached to me. I think it's going to take her a while to bond with Brett because I've been home with her so much more.
She's comical, so funny when she is playing. Today I was sorting wedding gifts to just see what all we have and I heard a small "woof" come from the bedroom. She'd somehow managed to jump in the clothes hamper but couldn't get out. I now wished I would have snaped a picture. Anyway, I am sure that she will be keeping us busy. She definately is fun to watch and snuggle with! Just love that puppy smell. The little squeaks. The playful natures.

  1. Kellie, Zoe is sooo cute. It makes the heart feel good to have a puppy. Wait till you have the pitter patter of little feet. I used to tell David I couldn't wait to hear her pitter pat down the hallway. Now...well..I am over that.
