Today I was absolutely exhausted when I got home.

Melissa dropped me off just in time to make inside before it flooded. They told us today about our furlough days....three days taken between now and December 31st. They are extending the Labor Day holiday for a four day weekend and giving us a four day weekend in October. So this means the students will have 15 minutes of instructional time added to their days between now and Christmas. At least they are going to gradually take it out of pay instead of all at once. Teachers have been coming in and setting up their rooms early. I was quiet busy today and will be the rest of the week. It's always hectic during the first few months of school. They also told me about 6 professional development days during August and September so that is more time out of the building.
Jane brought the girls out today to take some pictures in the sunflowers.

They stopped by the house afterwards and chatted with mama and I while we were in the yard with Zoe. I can't believe that the twins are seniors this year! I hope she was able to take some good ones. After the storm, it looked like the flower stems were trying to lay down from all the wind. I am sure that the sunshine tomorrow will perk them right up!!! Here are some more pics. They are so bright and colorful!! Tara is going to bring the boys out too for some pics. They are great photo opportunity.
I am reading
The Time Traveler's Wife. It's a great book! I hope to finish it this weekend ~ definitely before the movie comes out in a few weeks.

I don't need to read too much tonight because I need to start painting the canvas boards for Deanna's kids bedrooms for their coast house - crazy crabs for Benjamin and mermaids for Genevieve. I'll have to post them when I am done! Actually I am waiting for another back rub from Brett. He got the knots out of my back last night and I slept all night without waking up. He's already said he'd rub my back again tonight. What a great husband I've got!!!!
Need some info on your book...I am looking for something to read. I read James Patterson's "The Quickie" this weekend. I read his Women's Murder Club Series (8 books) in about 5 weeks this summer. Got to have a new book SOON.
