Reid's First Trip to Shellman's Bluff

was a hit! I guess the little guy was excited because he never napped Saturday afternoon and was perfect once we arrived! There was just so much for him to see and check out. I loved all my summers at the coast growing up with mema and grandy. We would spend the entire summer at Shellman's swimming of the dock, fishing, going to the sandbar and exploring Blackbeard Island.
Saturday was the 2nd annual fishing tournament in memory of daddy. Over thirty people packed into Hunter's Cafe after the weigh-in to enjoy fried fish caught during the tournament. Friends of daddy told stories and we all enjoyed the night.
Reid was especially a happy baby. He had so much to see. He loves being outside so of course the dock and the water was a huge hit! He watched them clean the fish and take the boats out in amazement. His favorite of the night was a guy playing the guitar at Hunter's. He just stared the entire time as the guy played and sang. We even danced a little. Everyone had their t-shirts on for the tournament, one was made especially for Reid.
There was so much to check out at the dock!
I loved the salt air and breeze!
The dock was cool and I just LOVE water to play in!
Pic with Uncle Chris and Meme after their tough day on the boat.
My angel! Just loved his coast attire!
Playing with Meme's hat! I wanted it bad!
Watching the one man band was FUN!

Every day passes and we miss daddy more and more. I've heard it gets easier but I don't see that ever happening with us. He is missing an important part of my life as we watch Reid grow and change. He would have loved him to death and spoiled him rotten! I know he would already have a fishing pole just for him if he was alive. I tell Reid everyday that he has his own special angel; that daddy is always with him and watches over him to keep him safe. When he grows older he will get to hear the stories of daddy that people tell and experience all the wonders of Shellman's Bluff that I did as a child.
